For nearly ten years, Dice Dungeons has been creating the kinds of tabletop gaming products we want to use at our own table. That has meant everything from dice and gaming accessories to Quest Decks, monsters, adventures, and full 5e books.
Now we have a new place to explore more of those ideas.
The Dice Dungeons Patreon is officially live, with new tabletop RPG content releasing throughout every month.
A New Theme Every Month!
Rather than treating Patreon as a collection of disconnected downloads, we are building each month around a central theme. That theme gives us a chance to explore an idea from several different directions. One release might introduce new backgrounds and feats for players, while another adds monsters for GMs. Later in the month, we can expand the same concept with adventure hooks, Quest Decks, subclasses, or full adventures.
Some themes will be strange. Some will be nostalgic. Some may eventually grow into much larger Dice Dungeons projects.
Our first theme, Visitors From Beyond, takes inspiration from UFO stories, alien folklore, strange lights in the sky, mysterious encounters, and creatures that do not quite belong in a traditional fantasy world. And it is only the beginning!!
What Do Patreon Members Get?
There are three membership levels, starting at $5 per month.
The Questing Board
Our $5 tier is the starting point for the monthly releases. Members receive new player options and smaller releases, digital item cards, access to the Patreon archive, and the Patreon member area of our Discord.
Adventurers' Guild
At $10 per month, members receive everything from The Questing Board along with our larger monthly releases, including content such as monsters, encounters, subclasses, and other expanded material.
Heroes' Banquet
Our $15 tier includes everything above, plus adventure modules, Quest Decks, behind-the-scenes content, additional feedback opportunities, and access to the private Heroes' Banquet area of our Discord.
Heroes' Banquet members also get a closer look at what we are developing and more opportunities to help influence where Dice Dungeons goes next.
More Than Just Downloads
One of the biggest reasons we wanted to create the Patreon was to make the development process more interactive.
We have always relied heavily on playtesting and community feedback when developing new products. Patreon gives us a place to do more of that throughout the year. Members will see polls about future ideas, discussions about upcoming content, design posts from our team, and opportunities to tell us what they want to see more of.
An idea that starts as a Patreon poll or conversation could eventually become a larger release, a new product, or even the foundation for a future Kickstarter.
New Content Throughout the Month
We also wanted Patreon to feel active throughout the entire month rather than becoming a single monthly download. Our schedule includes regular Tuesday and Thursday posts with new releases, community polls, design discussions, monthly recaps, and previews of what is coming next.
That means there should regularly be something new to read, download, discuss, or vote on. As the Patreon continues, members will also build access to a growing archive of previous releases.
